US military may deploy F-22 and F-35 stealth fighters near China

The US military goes to great lengths to ensure it is ready for a major power ωɑɾ with China.

Washington needs its best assets, such as the F-22 and F-35, as close as possible to the potential ‘battlefield’ of the conflict.

In preparation for conflict in the Indo-Pacific, the US military is considering repositioning the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and F-22 Raptor stealth fighters closer to China.

The US expressed its desire to see fifth-generation fighter jets deployed closer to China.

the constant presence of the F-35 and F-22 in the area of ??operations is critical in “providing deterrence and that “forward-placed capability is what is desired to counter current or future Chinese aggression in the region.”

F-22 Raptors and F-35 Lightning II have been deployed to the Indo-Pacific regularly in Agile Combat Employment (ACE) exercises.

To be sure, there are fifth generation fighter jets permanently stationed in the region but they belong to allied countries. Australia, South Korea and Japan were able to field nearly 100 F-35 Joint Strike Fighter stealth jets. Any US stealth fighter jets in the area of ??operations are stationed there temporarily while training with local units and conducting area outreach.

Guam is the perfect location to permanently deploy fifth-generation stealth fighter jets closer to China.

But to do so, INDOPACOM must take into account the Chinese military’s powerful long-range fire capabilities, including ballistic and cruise missiles and hypersonic ωεɑρσռs. The Chinese military has been working to develop ωεɑρσռs systems that can attack US military bases across the Indo-Pacific, in addition to creating a strong anti-access/denial area umbrella in and around the South China Sea aimed at keeping American warships and aircraft away.

In total, the Indo-Pacific area of ??operations is probably the region with the most stealth fighter jets in the world.

Australia operates 44 F-35A Lightning II, South Korea 32 F-35A, and Japan 23 F-35A.
